Here, a retreat isn't about giving things up – it's about having it all.

Everything you need for total relaxation awaits you both inside and beyond the gate.
The flavours of the region, all in one place. Our round-the-clock honour-system shop stocks local jams, syrups, cheeses, and seasonal vegetables – all of which you can take home with you.
Food simply tastes better cooked over an open fire. Every house has a fully equipped grill and fire basket, so you can prepare meals together under the stars beside a crackling fire.
No need to get up early for fresh, local food. On request, we prepare a generous breakfast basket and leave it at your door – or we can put together a picnic pack if you'd like to have a mid-morning snack on the hilltop or by the lake.
Give yourself over to complete relaxation! Every Thursday, at Rómeó's yoga classes, you can stretch your body and recharge your spirit beside the large windows looking out over the forest.
We bring relaxation to your door. Marietta, our certified therapeutic masseuse, helps you unwind in the comfort of your own guesthouse with a refreshing back, shoulder, or full-body massage.
A special setting for life's most important moments. The spacious interior and authentic atmosphere of our eight-pillared barn provide an unforgettable venue for family celebrations, gatherings with friends, or even intimate weddings. Explore the rolling hills of Göcsej with ease.. With our modern hire e-bikes, even the steeper slopes become a pleasure, letting you cover greater distances and discover the hidden gems of the area.
The unforgettable sound of autumn in Zala. As dusk falls, the roar of stags rising from deep in the forest is a raw, mystical, and awe-inspiring natural spectacle. On the wildlife watch, it's not only the sounds but the entire atmosphere of the valley at evening that will captivate you.
The magic begins at the bottom of the garden. Settle into the streamside wildlife hide at dusk and watch the evening "broadcast": roe deer, red deer, and foxes all come to the water.
As many szegs, as many adventures. From restaurants to local producers to activities.
A reggelek illata. The scent of mornings. Taste tradition in Táncos Bakery's handcrafted sourdough breads and old-fashioned pastries, each carrying the heart and soul of the countryside.
You can taste the beer of the Őrség region just a few hills away though the brews are actually made here in Zala County. Real rarities await within the walls of the brick building in Nagyrákosd.
A must-visit gastronomic stop in the neighbouring szeg. At Szegecs in Becsvölgye, modern cuisine meets the honest soul of the countryside – a perfect destination for a hearty lunch or an atmospheric dinner after a day of exploring.
A landmark you need to see (and taste) at least once. One of the finest kitchens in the country, where refinement and rural tranquillity go hand in hand. Don't rush – savour the moment and the artistry inspired by local ingredients. Just don't forget to book a table in advance!
World peace, right next to the market. If you're craving a little urban buzz, the Kávélabor in Zalaegerszeg serves divine breakfasts, house-roasted coffee, and freshly pressed juices until 2pm. A perfect start before a Saturday morning at the market.
Nature dreamed onto a plate, within the walls of an old parsonage. Papsajt is not just a restaurant but an organic tavern and bistro, where wild sourdough flatbreads, herbal home-made spreads, and garden-fresh produce take centre stage. A true chill-out spot where dipping your bread is an art form and every flavour recalls a grandmother's garden.
The "black gold" of the Zala hills.. In Milejszeg, a world-class producer has emerged that any Tuscan region would envy. Their cold-pressed pumpkin seed oils and specialities bring consistently outstanding quality to your kitchen.
Discover the world of a smallholding nestled among the Zala hills, where a nature-close way of life, carefully crafted products, and personal encounters together form the heart of the experience. The Pipahegy Smallholding also hosts its own farmers' market, so you can experience both the spirit of the place and its local flavours first-hand – from others too…
A splash-about and angler's paradise at the bottom of the valley. Sparkling clear water and a national blue trail await after an easy 10-minute drive or a pleasant walk through the forest. A playground and fish grill on the shore complete the day. The water is undisturbed – just like the lounging will be.
Rattling tranquillity across 109 kilometres. On Hungary's longest narrow-gauge railway, you'll pass through untouched forests and wildly beautiful landscapes. An enduring memory for children and adults alike as they spot the forest's inhabitants from the little train.
A Transylvanian atmosphere on the edge of the Őrség. Amid the painted coffered ceiling's blue clouds and floral motifs of this Reformed church, time stands still. A genuine spiritual and architectural journey through time – one that would be a shame to miss.
We didn't build a set – we rescued a heritage and brought it into the present.
The authentic forms that blend into the Göcsej landscape meet modern technology here, so that all you need to focus on is the moment, while tradition wraps itself around you.
A space where thoughts take flight.
Reborn in 2024, the Barn at the heart of Becsvölgye is more than a building. Its 115 m² hardwood floor, modern modular lighting, and full technical equipment (projection screen, air conditioning) provide a professional backdrop, while the sliding glass walls make nature itself the scenery.
Some moments call for a setting worthy of them. Whether it's creation, celebration, or contemplation, the Barn's spaces have been shaped to give form to your vision.
Intimate family celebrations and gatherings with friends, where the 115 m² oak floor and spacious garden provide room for shared laughter.

A retreat from the noise of the city, where collaborative work and the spaces of the Szegvidéki Barn, along with the inspiration the surroundings provide, forge a true sense of community.
An exclusive wedding venue for those who seek authentic elegance and natural décor.
Yoga and mindfulness retreats, where the dawn mist in the valley and the pine-scented air support deep immersion.
Local small-producer brunches or sunset tastings under the pergola, right next to the wildlife watching hide.
Thanks to gallery lighting and a hanging system, the Barn can be transformed into an elegant exhibition space in moments.
A secret corner of the estate where the best of local small producers and our own favourites await.
From crisp valley-grown vegetables and fruit jams to drinking juices, loose-leaf herbal teas, handcrafted Pipahegy cheese, dried fruits, and fresh eggs – you'll find everything you need for a nourishing dinner.
Exclusively for our guests.
We have curated the Larder's shelves to add something extra to every moment of your stay. Browse at your leisure and take home a distinctive taste of the region.
Sunrise deserves a little indulgence. Slice into the Táncos sourdough, spread it with a creamy cheese from Pipahegy Smallholding, or choose the golden Göcsej honey. Every bite carries the calm of the countryside.
Whether it's a slow, book-filled afternoon by the stove in Jónás House or a refreshing morning at the forest's edge – our hand-gathered herbal teas embrace the soul. Taste the scent of the meadows in a single cup.
Because great conversations and celebratory moments deserve a worthy accompaniment. Choose from the finest wines and sparkling wines of the Zala wine region, or taste a true Göcsej pear pálinka. Raise your glass to the moment!
Take the Larder outdoors! We've prepared everything you need for a perfect afternoon by the leisure pond at Vörösszeg or under the ancient walnut trees of the Bán House – or really anywhere out in the green. Just pack the basket, spread the blanket, and enjoy undisturbed nature.
Take home a memory sealed in a jar! Our artisan delicacies not only enrich your stay here, but make perfect gifts for those you left at home. Share the flavours of Göcsej with them, and tell them all about your Szegvidék adventure.
Elderflower, mint, and the true taste of fruit. Our syrups are made the old-fashioned way: pure, preservative-free, and with a great deal of love. Add fresh spring water and feel the power of nature with every sip.
No labels needed here – the flavour speaks for itself. Our seasonal treasures come straight from the garden's soil and the branches of its trees into the Larder. Crisp, sun-ripened, and pure – exactly as nature made them. Nothing more, nothing less. Well, perhaps a little more.
Here in Göcsej, communities always create something special.
