"We were looking for a place to stay while writing our books and doing creative work, and Jónás's House turned out to be the perfect choice. It has a peaceful, soothing atmosphere, the hosts welcomed us with a wonderfully thoughtful welcome package – for which we are especially grateful – and the Szegi Larder was full of delicious things. This place is a true gem among the hills of Göcsej."
The Concept: Jónás's House is Göcsej's ambassador of cosying up. We created it for those who love the vertical perspective: the cool security of the forest at their back and the sweeping view of the valley stretching out before them. This house is about inner focus – a good book by the stove, or breakfast on the terrace while watching the horses graze in the valley below.
The Two-Storey Hideaway: This charming red building sits directly in the shade of two ancient oak trees, with every corner designed for intimacy. On the ground floor, a wood-stove-heated sitting room, a tea kitchen, and a dedicated reading nook invite you to slow down. The steep staircase leads somewhere worth going: at the top, two bedrooms await – one with a double bed, the other with flexible single beds. Although the house carries the promise of a digital detox, a small writing desk and Wi-Fi are also available should inspiration catch you in nature's gentle embrace.
The Story: At Jónás's House, your morning coffee comes with a panorama. The terrace in front of the building is not merely a spot for grilling or an afternoon cup of tea – it's a front-row seat overlooking a generous sweep of the estate: the barn, the lake, the valley, and the horses moving peacefully below. Here, nature doesn't just surround you – it unfolds before you. This house strikes the perfect balance between the wild seclusion of Ferenc's House and the classic comfort of Imre's House. And the Szegvidéki Larder, with its inexhaustible supply of delicacies, is just a few steps away.
For readers and creators: The combination of the reading nook and the valley-facing terrace makes this ideal for writers, artists, or anyone who wants to immerse themselves in their own thoughts..
For couples and friends: Those who appreciate the vertical layout – shared cooking on the ground floor and the intimacy of the upstairs bedrooms..
For "semi-nomads": Those who crave the closeness of the forest and a rustic atmosphere, but also need reliable Wi-Fi and modern infrastructure for the occasional working day..

A white adobe house deep in the forest, far from the roads and even the minimal noise that exists in Göcsej – this is the place of "nomadic luxury" and complete silence.
